Playoff: Plainview vs. Great Neck

The season is over for Plainview ‘B’.  It was a tough year for all of us, but there were some good highlights. First of all, the team’s fielding improved tremendously as the year progressed. You’ll see when you look through today’s photos how many great plays our team made in the field. Second, the boys behaved like a team (just look at the team photo). They looked out for each other, demonstrated excellent middos (character traits) and did their best to stay motivated despite a bunch of disappointing games. Third, most players really improved their individual skills during the year. Once again, you’ll see evidence of that in all the pictures. And finally, considering that we only had 9 players and one coach who received very little assistance during practices and games all season, we did ok and we will do better next year.

We owe a lot of thanks to Coach Plutzer for all his work and dedication this year. Everyone should realize what an effort it is to be organized for each game and know that when you get to the field you’re going to have to be the first and third base coach, the head coach and the official equipment shlepper all by yourself (but it is fair to say that Mrs. Plutzer did her share of shlepping, too).  There are lots of nice action shots today. I am going to show a bunch in this posting just so you can see how many great plays there were in the game. Look in the full gallery to find all these photos plus many more.
